Obituary

Larry Dean Platt, 67, passed away on March 19, 2021 at his North Swink home. He was born on June 2, 1953 in Fort Knox, Kentucky to Bobby Joe & Marion (Gilbert) Platt.

Larry lived in the lower Arkansas Valley all his life. He left high school early to join the Army, but never completed boot camp as it was discovered that he was underage and he was sent back home. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth Irene Dominguez on December 8, 1973. They enjoyed nearly 36 years together filled with the joy of four children and many grandchildren, until her passing in November 2009. They enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards and socializing with family and friends. Larry continued to enjoy these same hobbies throughout the remainder of his life. He was very musically inclined and was often found playing foosball and shooting pool. He spent a lot of his time working with leather, wood, electronics, and anything else he could try to fix. He was known to have a shed or two full of projects! Larry’s family and friends were the recipients of his many creations.

He is survived by his sons, Christopher (Robert) Shaw of Marietta, Georgia; Clifford (Laura) Martinez of La Junta; Troy (Robyn) Platt of Swink; Gilbert (Sandra) Platt of Longview, Washington; grandchildren, Michael Hernandez, Angela Hernandez, Brandy Casias, Katelyn Platt, Tabitha (Seth) Sebastian, Rylee (KayLee) Platt & Kaymon Platt, Isabel, Kaylee & Wesley Platt; great-grandchildren, Emily Butts, Angel Casias and Charlotte Cordova.
