La Junta Fire Department VS House Fire 4/19/21
At 0241 we responded to a structure fire. (1500 Block of Kenilworth)
Upon arrival heavy smoke conditions and heavy fire was starting to show on the Charlie and Delta sides.
A defensive attack was called by command. Occupants of the house said everyone was out of the house. Aggressive fire attack with 2- 1 3/4 and 1- 2 1/2 with a Blitz nozzle.
Water supply was set up for water shuttle operations. Cheraw Fire was called for a Tender for water.
Chief Davidson had command. Eng 1, Trk 1, Tender 1, Med 3, Med 4 and Cheraw Tender 6 and OCSO.
No injuries. Cause of the fire was a kerosene heater misused next to a bed.
