Lamar Fire Department Responds to Structure Fire
At 12:17 pm Thursday Lamar Fire and Emergency services was paged out to a possible structure fire in the 200 block of Division Street in Lamar Colorado with smoke showing from the attic.
Upon arriving, Initial units found smoke exiting from the attic from the single family dwelling. All occupants made it out safely The Fire Department started on roof operations to vent the smoke out of the house and find the location of the fire. At the same time interior operations were being conducted to find an attic access.
Once the location of the fire was found, extinguishment of the fire and overhaul was completed. Light structure and smoke did affect the attic area with no water damage as the burning debris was removed from the house.
The cause of the fire was failed electrical wires. The residence was secured prior to the fire department clearing the scene.
