5/31/21 Update:
Purgatorie River Receeding Below Flood Stage. Latest Update from NWS Office of Pueblo.
The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch until 6am 5/31/21 for the Purgatorie River in Bent County as it nears record level.
"This crest compares to a previous crest of 15.0 feet on 5/20/1955."
Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 14.3 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late this evening.
Impact...at 15.0 feet, Major Flood. Major agricultural flooding occurs along the river.
