Obituary

Antonette Stephanie Archuleta also known as “Chuleta” went home with the Lord on June 16, 2021 at her home in La Junta, Colorado.

Chuleta was born on June 2, 1974 and growing up she was very spoiled by her parents, Steve and Tomie Archuleta. As a child, her siblings remember her always being dressed up in cute little house on the prairie dresses with matching bonnets. As a teenager, Chuleta became devoted to attending church with family and friends. She graduated from La Junta High School in 1992. Shortly thereafter, she was employed by Otero Junior College and worked in the cafeteria.

Chuleta loved her Spanish music, dancing to cumbia’s and she was a huge Selena fan. She loved cooking and the food she cooked was delicious - her signature dishes were spaghetti, enchiladas and flautas. Chuleta was always crafting and she always had her house decorated on holidays. She loved having yard sales and going to yard sales.

On October 6, 1998, Chuleta welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Sunshine Marie Lovato also known as “Sunny”. Chuleta had Sunny spoiled as Sunny was her only child. Sunny remembers her Mom being very caring and she would always put Sunny before herself. Anytime Sunny was feeling down, she knew how to cheer her up. On March 2, 2016, Chuleta became a Grandmother to Juliana Lynn Lovato, who was her pride and joy. Chuleta called Juliana her “Baby Love”. She spoiled her with gifts and most important, love and attention.
Chuleta was the goddaughter of Raymond and Thomasa Gonzales. Chuleta was the godmother to Matthew Archuleta, who she loved with all her heart.

Chuleta is survived by her daughter, Sunshine (Sonny) Jaramillo; granddaughter, Juliana; sister’s, Judy Archuleta and Cathy Archuleta; brother, Steve Archuleta, Jr.; nieces and nephews, Miguel (Erin) Monroy, Ray Archuleta, George Esquibel, Matthew Archuleta, Krysten Lopez and Rachel (Sam) Burciago; numerous great nieces and nephews also survive. Chuleta was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Tomie Archuleta; niece, Chasity Archuleta; great-niece, Tommie Archuleta and great-nephew, Josias Burciago.
