Patrick Berg Appointed President of DeBourgh

La Junta, CO— 06/21/21 — On Monday, May 17th 2021, DeBourgh Mfg. Co. announced the decision to promote Patrick Berg to the position of President.

“I’m deeply honored to be given the opportunity and responsibility of leading this incredible company that was founded by my great-grandfather and his brothers over one hundred and ten years ago. The culture, reputation, and brand of our company has been built and safe-guarded by the previous three generations of my family and their trusted partners.  To them I owe everything for this opportunity to advance the business and support our local community” said Patrick Berg, now President of DeBourgh Mfg. Co.

Succession

Patrick succeeds Jorgen Salo, who DeBourgh had appointed as President on October 22nd, 2012.  After nine years of successful leadership, an amicable decision for succession in the position of President was announced, and took effect Tuesday, May 17th.

Background

As a member of the owning family of DeBourgh, Patrick has spent most of his life involved with the business on one level or another.  After graduating from La Junta High School, Patrick attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, achieving a Bachelor’s degree in Communications in 2010.  Many of his summers were spent working in the factory at DeBourgh or interning with partners and vendors such as Metalwest in Brighton, CO., following an important tradition for family members to learn the business from different perspectives.

Patrick officially joined the company in 2010 as Supply Chain Manager.  In 2013, Berg was promoted to Sales Manager, following in the footsteps of his father, Rob Berg, a highly respected leader of the company, now retired.

Patrick was an accomplished collegiate athlete on the Men’s Track and Field team at UNC, where he met his wife, Lauren Berg.  Both relocated to La Junta where they raise their three children, Austyn (8), Leila (7), and Merik (4).

Berg is currently working on a Master’s degree in marketing through Regis University, set to conclude in Fall of 2021.

The goals and vision Berg has shared for the company include “driving the business successfully into the future, focused on how to best bring value to a market with rapidly evolving needs.  In an ever-changing world, DeBourgh is poised to thrive and adapt.”
