Obituary

Leroy John Anthony Lovato, 68, of Ordway passed away on June 24, 2021 at the Parkview Hospital in Pueblo. He was born on March 24, 1953, in Ordway to Lupy Lovato.

He was raised by his grandparents, Sarah and Alex Lovato. Leroy graduated from Crowley County High School in 1973. He was a star basketball player and earned a basketball scholarship to attend Adams State College in Alamosa. On January 7, 1978, Leroy married Susie Sanko in Denver. To this union were born two children, Nicole and Nathan. The family moved to Ordway in 1980 and resided in Ordway thereafter. Leroy held various jobs throughout his life. He was an avid Broncos and Colorado Buffaloes fan. His hobby was working with wood, making furniture, pictures, toys, picture frames, and planters.

Leroy is survived by his wife of the home, Susie, his children, Nicole Lovato of Fort Collins and Nathan (Kim) Lovato of Ridgeland, MS; his special aunt, Stella Magdaleno, his sisters, Sandy Morgan, Barbara Lopez, and Mary Ann Sandoval, and his brothers, David Maynes, Joseph Maynes, Dennis Maynes and Victor Maynes. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother, and brothers, Alfonso Maynes and Kelly Maynes.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at the Crowley Community Baptist Church, 319 1st St, Crowley, CO with Pastor Jeremy Hoyt officiating.
