There's a spot not far from where the Purgatoirie River dumps into the Arkansas River that my kids don't want me to give away as their fishing hole.
In Southeast Colorado it is often difficult to find a good clearing on the river for fishing. This is largely due to the invasive tamarac that hug the bank.
It doesn't have to be dawn or dusk to see the natural red and orange hue at Keller Rock, but it helps.
On this trip the kids caught a handful of small channel catfish and a good sized carp that put up the most sporting fight of the evening.
Keller Rock is just another one of the great fishing spots along the Arkansas River.
