Obituary

Christopher Lee Zamora, 43, of La Junta passed away peacefully on August 13, 2021 at the Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 18, 1978 in La Junta to Joe & Angelina (Whatley) Zamora.

Christopher worked at Lewis Bolt & Nut for 10 years. He enjoyed life and spending time with his family taking pictures every step of the way. He enjoyed camping, riding his motorcycle, low riding and driving in the rain. He also enjoyed gambling in the casinos and lottery tickets. He always lent a helping hand so in his eyes he never met a stranger. He loved telling stories and had everyone believing them while he kept a serious face and joked threw it all. He had a big heart, loving smile that will be sadly missed by all.

He is survived by his children, Christopher Garcia of La Junta; Teaaira Garcia of La Junta; girlfriend, Michelle Martin; step-children, Samantha Ramos, Christopher Rodriguez, Chrystal Rodriguez, Eve Rodriguez all of La Junta; Jenny Martin of Pueblo; mother, Angelina Zamora of La Junta; father, Joe Zamora of San Diego, CA; siblings, Amy (Adan Ordaz-Garcia) Estrada, Joe (Melyssa) Zamora and Larry (Soledad) Zamora all of La Junta; nieces and nephews, Jessica (Daniel) Gauna, Raylene (Francisco) Sanchez, Danyela Zamora, Heaven Zamora, Joe “Wedo” Zamora, and Yolanda Zamora; great-nieces and great-nephews, Raylene, Londyn, Santos, Aden, Damien, Dominic, and Jovanni; aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth (Rita) Whatley and Julian Zamora and Amadita Zamora; uncle, George Del La Cruz.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Victor Raj officiating. Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in La Junta.
