Santa Fe Trail BOCES Pathway to Prosperity Internship Speed Interviews
Students from Cheraw, Swink and La Junta participated in a speed interview session at the La Junta Senior Citizen Center on November 30, 2021 as part of the Santa Fe Trail BOCES Pathway to Prosperity Internship Seminar.
What exactly is a speed interview session?
A speed interview session consists of 19 community partners willing to commit an hour of their time to conduct three 10-minute interviews with time between each interview to make helpful reflective notes for the interviewee. It is one way that the Pathway to Prosperity project is helping to prepare the 12 member cohort for college and career readiness.
The intern candidates then review the constructive feedback for personal improvement. Some of the intern candidates interviewed with potential hosts for a Spring Semester internship experience. One positive outcome is students increasing their social capital to use for an internship or future employment.
Special thanks to the community members who participated and to the City of La Junta Senior Citizen Center for use of the building.
