The Tuesday night meeting started at 7:00p.m. with 20 members attending. President Greg Holt opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and prayer following. Leonard Walgren motioned to accept as presented and seconded by James Huff. No new members were present.
OLD BUSINESS
President Holt brought up to the members present, that the charity ideas such as the toy run, Nursing Home ice cream social were discussed among the officers and board members and came to the decision that the club is not a service organization but a club that enjoys getting together and exploring the area. All members agreed If a member was in need it would go before the club. James Huff said that the club ought to post pone until further notice.
Chuck was curious as to how Bill & Carol’s 60 wedding anniversary went. Bill & Carol spoke a little on it.
NEW BUSINESS –
Every one was excited to hear when this years Debug Defrost tour will take place. The tour itself is a surprise but it does consist of paved roads somewhere from La Junta to Rocky Ford. So do drive your old vehicles!
Jimmie Martinez and Chuck Donkle have put the tour on every year and it is so worth the adventure!! Club members need to meet at the La Junta Safeway on Saturday April 23rd and be ready to head out at 9:00a.m.
Sonic would like the club to gather and show off their vehicles sometime in the future and what sales Sonic makes that evening the club would get 10% - Maybe Thursday evening the same week of the club meeting was brought up by James Huff. At one time the car club members would go out to eat together, it would be nice to do that again. Badges have come in –you need to come to a car club meeting to get yours.
GRAND MARSHALLS of the 2022 Santa Fe Trail Days parade is CHUCK & KAREN DONKLE! Great choice! The Donkles have lived in Las Animas 48 years. Parade line-up is 9:00a.m. at the high school on 3rd street.
Dan Wagner just might bring his new tractor. Rocky Ford car show is Saturday June 4th South of the railroad tracks downtown. President Holt told of his experience with the 2 Bent’s Fort Oxen in the parade years ago.
Rethabel Huff ran into Danny Round – he mentioned that he could have been a millionaire if it wasn’t for his collection of old cars. Karen Menges will call Danny Round for a future visit to his ranch to see his prize possessions.
Farewell to Louise
