4/14 5pm afternoon update for the Fort Lyon and Bent’s Fort Fire
Fort Lyon Fire
2909 acres
50% contained
Bent’s Fort Fire
1656 acres (reduction in acreage is due to better mapping)
25% contained
Crews continue to strengthen fire lines and mop up hotspots on both fires. Pockets of heat remain in the interior of the burn areas where there are large pockets of heavy vegetation. Winds have been relatively calm today compared to previous days and crews are making good progress on both fires. We will post another update with acreage and containment this evening.
