Southeast Colorado Wildfire Update 4/15/22 8:40pm from La Junta Fire Department
The Fort Lyons Fire is currently 2926 acres and containment has increased to 87%. Today’s late afternoon winds caused a slight increase in fire activity on the east end of the fire and firefighters were able to quickly engage and tie that area into areas that had already burned. Crews continued patrol and mop up operations on the remainder of the fire’s perimeter.
The Bent's Fort Fire is currently 1648 acres and is containment has increased to 92%. Crews continued patrolling the fire’s perimeter and mopping up to protect control lines.
