Rocky Ford Fire Dept VS Out of Control Ag Burn 6/20/22
Today at approximately 2:30 pm we were paged out to an agricultural burn that got out of control threatening a hay barn.
Upon arrival we found that the fire had not made it into the hay barn.
The fire did burned approximately 4 acres before containment was achieved.
Mutual aid was requested from Manzanola, Fowler, and La Junta.
The fire did cause approximately $20,000 in damages to nearby hay and gated irrigation pipe.
Cause of fire was accidental. All units cleared at approximately 7:30 pm.
A huge shout out to the mutual aid agencies that assisted us. You are all greatly appreciated.
