La Junta Raceway Hosted Annual In Pursuit of The Great Pumpkin Race

Description: Saturday was a beautiful day to go to the track. Nice weather conditions and a friendly atmosphere make for fun times at La Junta Raceway.

Lots of Hot Track Action at SCCA Race Event Held at La Junta Raceway

Dubbed "In Pursuit of The Great Pumpkin" this SCCA event closed out the season for La Junta Raceway - Victory Motorsports. 

Saturday we found time during the lunch hour to cruise the pits at La Junta Raceway...

Showing the kids the real race cars means explaining the benefits of easy disassembly. As well as explaining that there are different types of race cars.

You wouldn't expect this guy to spend his weekend making high speed right turns...

I've heard "real race cars don't have fenders" somewhere...more than once...

If that's the case, there were lots of them at The Junction over the weekend.

That's one fast Volkwagen...

A Focus ST would make for fun laps in a turbo hatchback over the weekend, and for comfortable commutes to work during the week.

Junction Burgers served lunch...and drivers lined up for good food and good company, but quickly made it back to their pits.

I told my daughter that just because the hood is up it doesn't mean they are working on their car, usually they are just letting the engine cool off as much as they can.

But some guys probably do it to look cool too...
