Groundskeeper-General Maintenance Worker 

General purpose of the job: 

Seasonal Position 

The person is responsible for the general day to day upkeep of properties owned by the La Junta/Otero County Housing Authority. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

The Groundskeeper/General Maintenance Worker is to perform general maintenance duties to effectively maintain a desirable property appearance. 

The Groundskeeper/Maintenance Tech is responsible for the following: 

1. Clean and maintain property grounds daily. Remove trash and debris from areas. 2. Assist in turning vacant units. 

3. Mowing, weeding, weed spraying, hauling, shoveling & edging property owned by the housing authority. 

4. Performs additional duties, responsibilities or projects as assigned. 

Job Qualifications: 

Must have skills relating to grounds maintenance and general maintenance 

Valid Colorado driver's license 

Pass CBI Report 

Must be 16 years of age + 

Requires the ability to lift and carry ground keeping tools and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, prolonged walking or standing, and frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching on a daily basis. 

Requires a full range of physical motion in order to operate tools and grounds keeping equipment and machines. 

Forty hours (40) hours week. M-F 

$14.00 per hour
