La Junta Fire Dept. VS Cheraw Barn Fire

This morning at 0121 we responded to a reported structure fire in the area of 32000 Hwy 109. This is just West of the town of Cheraw.

Upon arrival Chief Davidson called out a working fire with heavy fire and smoke on the Southend of the building. Cheraw Volunteer Fire Department responded as well.

A defensive attack was used due to the heavy fire conditions.

A second page was requested and Mutual Aid was requested from Rocky Ford Fire Department for tenders to help with water shuttle.

Hand lines from multiple engines were used to help extinguish the fire.

The building ended up a total loss. Crews were on scene until approx 0730. The cause is under investigation.
