La Junta Fire Dept VS Hay Stack Fire + Severe Weather

At 737pm on July 5th, we responded to Rd 24 and Rd BB on a haystack fire.

Upon arrival found a very large haystack was on fire and the wind was spreading the flames very fast.

Mutual aid was called in from Rocky Ford Fire Department, Manzanola Fire Department and DFPC Eng 34 also assisted.

Water shuttles were established and the use of some local ranchers and front end loaders assisted.

We did have to deal with heavy rain, hail and lightning during this fire. Thank you to all who came and assisted.
