FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ......................................................... December 2, 2020 - Support the OJC Foundation on Colorado Gives Day

LA JUNTA — The Otero Junior College Foundation invites Coloradans to support OJC’s efforts to provide scholarships to students and continue to support access to education locally by donating to the OJC Foundation on Colorado Gives Day, Dec. 8, 2020. On Colorado Gives Day individuals can give to support a healthcare scholarship, the President’s Leadership Program, Agriculture Sciences, contribute to the Partnership for Excellence fund which will support professional development opportunities for faculty and staff, support an athletic team with program support, or choose to allow the Foundation to apply their monies to the area of greatest need.

Presented by Community First Foundation and FirstBank, Colorado Gives Day is an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy through online giving. The event is powered by ColoradoGives.org, a year-round, online giving website. Search for the OJC Foundation the site and make a safe and secure donation in a few easy steps.

“The donations we receive on Colorado Gives Day will help us do more to support our students and ensure that we are able to continue to provide excellent, affordable, and accessible educational opportunities,” says Dillon Martin, Otero Junior College Foundation director.

Community First Foundation and FirstBank each contributed $500,000 to create $1 Million Incentive Fund, one of the largest giving-day funds in the country. Every non-profit receiving a donation on Colorado Gives Day receives a portion of the fund, which increases the value of every dollar donated. For example, if the OJC Foundation receives five percent of the total donations made on Colorado Gives Day, the OJC Foundation also receives five percent of the $1 Million Incentive Fund.

To make it even easier to give, donations can be scheduled ahead of time. On the www.coloradogives.org website search for the OJC Foundation profile and schedule your donation between now and Dec. 8.
