La Junta Police Report: Three Juveniles Arrested for Menacing

On 06/29/2024 at approximately 0200 hours, Officers with the La Junta Police Department were dispatched to the 1400 block of E 6th St. on a report of a menacing. 
 
Through the course of the investigation, Officers were able to positively identify a suspect vehicle. A short time later Officers with the La Junta Police Department and Deputies with the Otero County Sheriff's Office were able to locate this vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated and two juvenile males were subsequently taken into custody.
 
A third male party fled on foot from the traffic stop and was taken into custody a short time later with the help of several assisting agencies.
 
This investigation is active and ongoing. The charges involved in this incident include but are not limited to, possession of a defaced weapon, prohibited use of a weapon, possession of a handgun by juvenile, large capacity ammunition magazine, Menacing, and obstructing.
 
The La Junta Police Department would like to extend its gratitude to all agencies involved. 
 
All parties involved presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
