Obituary

Teresa Marie McKinney died peacefully on June 29, 2024 at Pioneer Healthcare with her family by her side. Teresa was born on December 17, 1932 to General R. and Gladys W. Gibson in Pueblo. She was the second youngest of 7 children. She graduated from Manzanola High School in 1950. She then married William Truman McKinney on September 20, 1950 in Raton, NM. They had 5 children. Teresa was very loved and liked by everyone that met her. She was also known as the lunch lady for 30 years for the R-2 School District and helped a lot of people in the community. She was a very beautiful soul and her sweet nature made forever memories on those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed by all. She was under the care of Arkansas Valley Hospice.

Teresa is survived by 3 children: Kathy (Jim) McKinney Foster of Monahans, TX, Rodney (Valrie) McKinney of Manzanola, John McKinney of Rocky Ford, 5 grandchildren: Janelle Foster of Las Vegas, NV, Jason (Michelle) Foster of College Station, TX, Janee (Jeff) Sapp of Pueblo, Kim (Jeremy) Wallace of Manzanola & Karly (Dan) Kauffman of Fowler, 7 great-grandchildren: Kayla (Michael) Holmes, Clayton Foster, Nichole (Dennis) Beyer all of College Station, TX, Darian Sapp, Marshall Sapp both of Pueblo, Sennon (Titus) Unruh of Fowler, Keelin Wallace of Manzanola, Sayson Kauffman, Gunner Kauffman both of Fowler, 1 great-great-granddaughter Leighton Holmes College Station, TX, sister-in-law Sandy Gibson of Sterling. She was preceded in death by her husband Truman McKinney, daughter Karen McKinney Bates, her youngest son Max McKinney, her parents, and her 6 siblings.
