La Junta Police Make Arrest, Discover Fentanyl Possession on Church Trespass Call
On 07/19/2024, at approximately 0115 hours, Officers were dispatched to the First Lady of Guadalupe, 202 Lincoln Avenue, in the City of La Junta, County of Otero, State of Colorado, regarding multiple people trespassing on the property.
Officers contacted multiple parties who appeared to be drinking on the property.
While Officers were speaking to the parties, a male party attempted to leave the area. He was identified as Andrew Sheffield (20). Sheffield was taken into custody on two active warrants for his arrest.
While officers were searching Sheffield, presumptive positive Fentanyl was located on his person in the form of little blue pills labeled as "M30s".
Sheffield was booked into Bent County Jail on two outstanding misdemeanor warrants and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
All Parties are Considered Innocent Until Proven Guilty in a Court of Law.
