The Nurse Educator coordinates nursing professional development, training and monitors compliance in the Department of Nursing for the upper and lower Arkansas Valley Region of Colorado   Nurse educators are critical players in strengthening the nursing workforce and in ensuring evidence-based practice is followed.

Must foster a culture of patient and family centered care, service, quality and safety excellence, while improving patient experience, employee experience and community relations.

Travel is required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Current LPN or RN licensed in the State of Colorado
  • Minimum of two-year clinical nursing
  • BLS Certification/Instructor

Qualities and Characteristics:

  • Must be detail oriented, organized and highly accountable for timeliness and accuracy of performance
  • Excellent communication skills, be creative, have a solid clinical background, be flexible and possess excellent critical thinking skills; and will need to have a substantive knowledge base in their area(s) of instruction and have the skills to convey that knowledge in a variety of ways to those who are less expert
  • Technical knowledge of the disease process, diagnostic methods and procedures, composition of the electronic medical record, and data interpretation. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to teach others and maintain a positive attitude

Working Conditions and Physical Environment:

Work is performed in an office environment within a medical clinic

Blood/Fluid Exposure Risk: X Category I:  Tasks routinely involve a potential for mucous membrane or skin contact exposure to blood, fluids or tissue.  Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), when appropriate, is required.
