Obituary

Tyler Allan Eden, 24, of Sterling, Colorado passed away Wednesday, July 17th, 2024. He was born November 30th, 1999 to Denice Berg and Birchell Eden in La Junta, CO. Tyler was blessed with one amazing sibling, his brother Jackson. The two kept one another on their toes for twenty plus years, and shared an unspoken, private language and bond.

Tyler made friends easily, but actively chose to keep his social circle, and those he trusted close. Tyler was a gentle soul and enjoyed gaming with folks through different systems/mediums and thrived on family time, especially over a good card game with food and great company. Tyler lived for the Renaissance Festival, and enjoyed travel in the southern region of the US.

Tyler was surrounded by animals since the day he was born. He had a sincere compassion for them, especially Charles, his beloved cat. Tyler’s mom describes him as warm hearted and fun loving – anyone that knew him knew of his soft and gentle personality.

After graduating from La Junta High School, he attended Otero College where he earned his Associate’s Degree. At the time of his passing, Tyler was employed by The Colorado Department of Corrections in the Sterling Correctional Facility as a Correctional Officer for 3-1/2 years. He drove a flashy car, had an impressive career path, and was loved by many.

Tyler was preceded in death by his grandmother, Beverly Rigsby, great grandmothers Donna Berg and Claudette Oakman, uncle, Brian Walker and aunt, Twila Walker.

Tyler is survived and celebrated by the following: brother, Jackson Eden; best comrade & friend, Lucas Hart; mother, Denice Eden; stepdad, Casey Lovato; uncles & aunts, Jeremy Berg, Jami & Jason Bennett, Kurt, Kara & Kyle Moulton; grandparents, Betty Miller, Dennis & Karen Berg, Vernon & Wanda Lovato, great grandmother, Dorene Moulton. Tyler was a gift to many clans: the Berg Clan, the Eden Clan, the Rider Clan, the Lovato Clan, and many more. Tyler took his place in each clan seriously and with heart.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene in La Junta, CO on August 17, 2024 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, Tyler’s family requests that any donations be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), 199 Water Street, 11th Floor New York, NY 10038. https://afsp.org/

Please be peaceful, our loving and wonderful boy, Tyler Allan Eden.

“You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.” -1 Peter 3:4
