La Junta Police Release Cemetery Barrier Crash Report
 
On 08/02/2024, at approximately 0625 hours, La Junta PD officers and EMS were dispatched to a single vehicle accident near 4th St and Dalton Ave.
 
The vehicle, driven by Joe Medina 77 years old of Denver, was traveling east on HWY 10 when the vehicle did not make the turn onto Dalton Ave.
 
 
The vehicle ran through the directional barrier and into the cemetery. Medina was transported to AVRMC. The cause of the accident is believed to be from Medina suffering a medical emergency.
