La Junta Police Make Arrest and Find Large Quantities of Drugs After Barricade Incident

Description: August 2nd - La Junta, CO: Cameron Damon (35) was arrested following a foot pursuit and barricade situation on Grace Ave. Damon, who had multiple warrants, was found with fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, and mushrooms. He faces several charges including unlawful distribution and burglary. The arrest was made with assistance from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Otero County Sheriff's Office.

La Junta Police Make Arrest After Barricade Incident; Large Quantities of Drugs Found
 
 
La Junta Police Officers attempted to contact 35-year-old Cameron Damon, who had several warrants for his arrest. Damon fled from officers on foot, and officers engaged in a short foot pursuit.
 
Damon then barricaded himself inside an occupied residence in the 800 block of Grace Ave. for a time but eventually was taken into custody without further incident. Damon was found to have large quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine and small quantities of heroin and mushrooms.
 
 
He was booked into the Bent County Jail on charges of Unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, special offender, burglary of a building, burglary of a residence, resisting arrest, and obstructing a peace officer. 
 
The La Junta Police Department would like to thank the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Otero County Sheriff's Office for assisting with this incident.
