Granada/Holly Police Arrest Suspect After Shooting Incident and Foot Pursuit

Description: On August 15, 2024, a wanted suspect, Alfredo Escobedo-Bermudez, 36, fired a handgun at officers after attempting to flee during a police encounter in Holly, CO. Officers subdued him using an electronic device, leading to his arrest on charges including Attempted 2nd Degree Murder on a Peace Officer. He is being held without bond at the Prowers County Jail. All Parties Considered Innocent Until Proven Guilty.

Granada/Holly Police Arrest Suspect After Shooting Incident and Foot Pursuit in Holly

On August 15, 2024 at about 2:50pm officers with the Granada/Holly Police Department observed a wanted person in the area of 10th St & Colorado St. in Holly.  The suspect ran from officers when they tried to contact him.  The suspect was recontacted in the 700 block of W. Cliff St. The suspect resisted and officers had to use an electronic immobilizing device. The suspect fired at least one round from a handgun towards officers.    

Officers took Alfredo Escobedo-Bermudez, 36 years old from Holly, for two misdemeanor warrants Failure to Comply & Restraining Order Violation.  Escobedo-Bermudez was also charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder on a Peace Officer & Attempted 1st Degree Assault on a Peace Officer.  Escobedo-Bermudez is being held at the Prowers County Jail without bond.  Additional charges are pending. 

All parties considered innocent until proven guilty.
