Lamar Police Investigate Shooting After Victim Found on Main Street; Injuries Reported as Non-Life-Threatening

On August 15, 2024, at approximately 0655 hours, Lamar Fire and Ambulance Service were contacted in the 500 block of S. Main St. by a male party suffering from a reported gunshot wound. Officers were advised the party had suffered the injury at a residence in the 700 block of S. 2nd St. in Lamar. The injured party was transported to the Prowers Medical Center where he was interviewed prior to being transferred to another facility for further treatment of reportedly non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers and Detectives responded to the scene to investigate. The involved parties were contacted and interviewed and the residence was secured for a search warrant. A search warrant was executed without incident and evidence was collected from the scene.

The investigation into this incident is still underway, with the involved parties cooperating with investigators. There is no on-going threat to the public, and further information will be available upon completion of the investigation.
