Obituary

Cyndi went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 13th after losing her long battle with metastatic bone cancer. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Cynthia Ann Dehoff was born October 8th, 1961 at Johnson Air Base, Saitama, Japan, the third child of Captain Donald D. Dehoff and Madelyn E. (Kramer) Dehoff. Her early childhood was spent in Kansas City, Missouri where her father was stationed in the U.S. Air Force. When Cyndi was 6 years old the family followed Major Dehoff to his new duty station of Peterson Field in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Cyndi spent the rest of her childhood years in Colorado Springs, attending Patrick Henry Elementary, Sabin Junior High and Mitchell High School.

In the early 1980's Cyndi and her mother owned and operated Coats of Many Colors boarding stable in Fountain, Colorado. There she met a local race horse trainer, Bob Moore, who she married in 1985. The couple called Fountain home base for the next five years as they traveled Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico racing horses.

After living in Texas for most of the 1990's Cyndi and Bob returned to his hometown of Las Animas, Colorado. There Cyndi worked with Bob in their automotive repair shop and operated her own business, Critter Haven Dog Grooming. In addition Cyndi raised dairy cows and goats and ran the farm they bought south of Las Animas.

It was during this time that Cyndi took on her most challenging and rewarding career, that of being a foster parent. Many children called Cyndi mom for a short time. Cyndi's house was a beehive of activity, laughter and her tough, no nonsense love. And some of the kids who came for a short time, stayed forever. In 2007 the Moores relocated to Segundo, Colorado where Bob worked in the gas fields and Cyndi remodeled another two properties and built another successful business. Colorado Milk and Honey was her raw milk shares dairy. She and her daughter milked 8 cows a day and delivered fresh dairy to the Trinidad area for years.

The last few years of her life were spent enjoying her life with Bob, the kids and her grandchildren. But she was always and ever a tireless worker. She had many interests and hobbies. And she was good at all of them. From butchering a steer to working her horses to canning and cooking she could do it all.

Cyndi never met a stranger and people who she had never met before always seemed eager to share their whole life story with Cyndi for some reason. She was the glue that held the family together and the ramrod behind every event, big or small, that happened in the family.

Cyndi is survived by her husband, Bob, 4 children; Amber Hall, Michael Moore, Mahala Moore and Lucas Moore. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, her parents, brother Rick Dehoff, sister Debbie Elgas and 7 nieces and nephews.

Cyndi was preceded in death by her younger brother Bryan Lee Dehoff.

Cyndi requested that no services be held. She was interred in the family cemetery on the family farm at Segundo.

In lieu of flowers Cyndi asked that donations be made to Mount Rose Hospice, 1114 E. Main Street, Trinidad, CO, 81082
