La Junta Police Release Attempted First Degree Murder Arrest Report

On August 29th, 2024 at about 1:23 PM, Officers with the La Junta Police Department responded to 14th St. and Lewis Ave. in La Junta, Colorado to investigate the report that a man was struck by a vehicle.

After an investigation, officers took 58-year-old Jeffrey Leonard into custody. Leonard was charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, the Crime of Violation of a Protection Order, and Resisting Arrest.

The La Junta Police Department would like to thank the La Junta Fire Department for their assistance.
