Colorado Department of Education Awards $500K to Boost School Meals - Six Southeast Colorado Districts Receiving Funds to Put Local Products on the Menu...

The Colorado Department of Education’s Local Food Program (LFP) recently awarded 32 sponsors $500,000. This grant was given to districts and charter schools (referred to as sponsors) with the intent for them to purchase Colorado- grown, raised, processed and value-added products for school meal programs. The grant supports Colorado’s producers while increasing meal quality and access to local products in school meals for students statewide.
