Otero County Sheriff's Office Moves into New Building

La Junta, Colorado - Shawn Mobley, Otero County Sheriff is pleased to announce that the Otero County Sheriff's Department has moved into their newly constructed building located at 220 East 2nd Street La Junta, Colorado. This 4000 square foot building, built by Nunn Construction, marks a significant milestone in enhancing the department's facilities and services.

The new building is designed to provide a modern and efficient workspace for the Sheriff's Department, ensuring that they can continue to serve the county effectively. The construction of this building is part of a larger project that includes the ongoing construction of a neighboring 60-bed detention facility. This facility is slated to be completed in the Spring of 2025 and will further enhance the department's capabilities.

Otero County Administrator, Amy White-Tanabe, expressed her gratitude to Nunn Construction for their outstanding work, as well as to the community for their ongoing support. "This new building symbolizes our dedication to offering the highest quality services to the residents of Otero County," she stated. The Sheriff added, "We look forward to continuing our work on the detention facility and enhancing our ability to serve and protect the community."

Otero County Commissioners, Rob Oquist, Tim Knabenshue, and Jim Baldwin also expressed their support and enthusiasm for the new facilities.  “We are proud to see this vision come to fruition and look forward to the positive impact it will have on Otero County.”
