Obituary

Virginia Maxine (Higgs) Sharon was born September 27, 1941 in Rocky Ford, CO. Virginia was proceeded in death by her parents, Virgil and Alice Bell Higgs and sisters Joyce and JoAnn. She is survived by her husband, Rick; children, Randy (Summer) Sharon and Twana (Andy) Klinkerman; grandchildren, Blair, Joshua, Nathannial, Brandon, Jonah, Bethany, Dean, Hayleigh, Hayden, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Virginia attended school in Fowler, CO. On April 14, 1963, she married the love of her life, Rick Sharon. They had 2 children, Randy and Twana. During her life, she worked at the Fowler Coop and at Diven Packing Plant. She also spent hours as an electrician’s assistant, working alongside Rick on many jobs, large and small. However, her passion was her family and her church. She hosted countless family dinners, Chamber of Commerce dinners, class reunions. She loved to crochet, camp, travel, explore new places and visit old friends.

She was a Fowler Grizzly through and through, attending innumerable games, concerts, plays, and whatever else her children were involved in. She was adored by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Everything about Virginia was classy, yet real. She showed grace in everything she did, especially in her final days. She departed this life November 26, 2024 after a short battle with a severe infection. She was a rock her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be December 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fowler United Methodist Church with Pastor Julie King-Dye officiating. The service will be live-streamed on the Fowler United Methodist Church’s Facebook page.

Memorial donations can be made to Fowler United Methodist Church as Virginia was a lifelong member of the church and a devout follower of Jesus Christ.
