Obituary
Lee Harry Zamora, 80, of La Junta, Colorado, passed away December 7. 2024, peacefully in his La Junta home with his wife by his side. Lee was born December 4, 1944, in La Junta, Colorado to Jennie Zamora Eddy.
Lee quit high school to join the Air Force in 1962. He was a Vietnam Veteran who joined the Navy Reserves after being honorably discharged from the Air Force. He retired from the Navy Reserves in 1991. Lee’s work history included working at Gambles, Western Foods, Gibson’s and Colorado Boys Ranch.
Lee was very involved in Our Lady of Guadalupe St. Patrick Parish and Knights of Columbus, helping with yearly Bazaar, Chairing children’s Christmas parties, Chairing Coats for Kids program and many other activities. Lee was an avid Bingo player and for many years was a Bingo caller at the Knights of Columbus.
Lee is survived by his loving wife, Janet Zamora of the La Junta home; son, Zach H. Zamora of La Junta; daughters, JoAnn Montoya of Denver, Colorado, Sarah Lee Zamora Dean of Connecticut and Nancy Zamora of La Junta; Step- daughters, Heather Maes of La Junta, Kristy Freeman of La Junta, Tanoa Miles of Minnesota and Audrey Kim of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Brother, Eugene (Patricia) Eddy; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; a special niece, Gail Lynn Eddy and godson, Christopher Eddy.
Lee is preceded in death by his mother, Jennie Eddy; grandson, Jeremy Zamora; several aunts and uncles; father-in-law, Roy Roberson; Mother-in-law, Ilene Roberson, Frances Zamora and Aurelia Zamora.
Service will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe/ St. Patrick Parish on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, with a Rosary starting at 9:30 a.m. followed by Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. with inurnment at Calvery Cemetery. Reception to follow the inurnment at the Knights of Columbus in La Junta, Colorado.
