The Arkansas Valley Community Band Christmas Concert Monday, Dec 16th
The Arkansas Valley Community Band will play a Christmas concert in the Rocky Ford High School theatre Monday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m.
This is a free concert, and the public is invited to attend. Directed by popular Pueblo school band director Mark Emery, the band is composed of professional and student musicians, music educators and avocational musicians who will play a selection of familiar, enjoyable tunes of the season.
Tunes will be introduced by former Otero College theatre director Ed Stafford. Members of the band come from communities the length of the Lower Arkansas Valley, from Pueblo to Lamar. They rehearse at the Rocky Ford school band room Monday nights, courtesy of Jonathan Colson, Rocky Ford Band Director.
The Arkansas Valley Community Band's Christmas concert is a traditional event, looked forward to each year as it provides most delightful sounds of the season. The band is always on the lookout for additional members, and hopes there will be those attending who will hear the music and decide to pick up their horns and join in the new year.
