Save the Date: 2nd AMR/MedTrans Annual Safety Jam / A Path Forward Event and Walk-a-Thon Set for June 28, 2025 (Registration at 8:30 a.m. in La Junta City Park)
La Junta, Colorado – AMR/MedTrans, Otero County Health Department and Otero County Department of Human Services in partnership with The Schreiber Research Group, is proud to announce the 2nd Annual AMR/MedTrans Safety Jam / A Path Forward event taking place on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at La Junta City Park.
AMR/Safety Jam was started By Pueblo AMR to bring safety awareness to the public. This event was designed to provide fun for the family along with education and a chance to win a prize. This event will give you a chance to meet local law enforcement, Fire fighters and EMS personnel along with many other organizations in community all with the same goal, your safety.
This family-friendly community gathering includes a walk-a-thon to raise awareness and generate funds for scholarships supporting individuals in recovery from substance use disorder (SUD) and opioid use disorder (OUD).
A Path Forward is a program made possible through support from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). It represents a community-driven initiative to promote recovery, reduce stigma, and invest in the future of individuals striving to rebuild their lives.
“This event is more than a walk—it's a powerful expression of solidarity, hope, and commitment to ensuring every person in recovery has access to the support and resources they need,” said Rick Ritter.
Community members, local leaders, and recovery advocates are invited to attend. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m., and the walk-a-thon will begin at 9:00 a.m. Participants will walk the perimeter of La Junta City Park and are welcome to complete as many laps as they wish.
Mark your calendars and join us as we walk together toward a healthier future.
