Allen Wade Watts, 62, of Eads, Colorado, entered Heaven on the evening of July 1, 2025, after battling a long hard fight against cancer. He was surrounded and wrapped in love and prayers by the love of his life, Marie, their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Allen was born on July 18, 1962, in Eads, Colorado to Allen Wallace Watts and Phyllis Mae (Sarah) Barlow. Excitedly waiting at home for her little brother was his big sister, Natalie. In 1965, the family moved to Boulder, Colorado. The family stayed in a motel for a few weeks before finding a home. Only a short year later, the family decided to return to Eads, Colorado where they would live for three years. In 1968, Allen became a big brother to Robin. In 1969, the family moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where their dad had begun working in construction. In 1973, the family moved back to Eads where their dad began to work for Allen’s grandad, Woodrow Watts, constructing and rebuilding the family home. The family lived with Woodrow & Dorine Watts during the rebuild. In the summer of 1974 the family moved into the house on Goff Street. Little did Allen know that he would build a family and raise his children in that same house about nine years later.

Allen had fond memories of his childhood and teen years of family vacations, fishing and hunting trips, spending time with his sisters and cousins. Allen was the only boy and was a protective and ornery brother. Over the years spent with his grandad and dad he learned how to build things himself. Allen enjoyed spending his summers at the boys ranch in Fountain Valley with his Grandad and Grammy Sarah. He spent a lot of time at his Aunt Jackie and Uncle Bill Koehler’s house in Eads, Colorado, too.

In the summer of 1979 at the beginning of Allen’s senior year of high school Allen began working for the Kiowa County Road & Bridge. Allen later became the road foreman in Kiowa County where he continued to work until May of 2025.

Allen was always up to some sort of mischief. This was until he met the love of his life in high school. Marie Nelson had stolen his heart. On February 28, 1981, Allen and Marie were married and decided to make Eads their forever home. In May of 1981, they welcomed their first daughter, Samantha Marie. A few years later the family of three moved into Allen’s childhood home where he and Marie would continue to build their family and to make a loving home. In December of 1985, they welcomed another baby girl, Jessica Rae. Allen knew his family wasn’t complete until he had a boy to carry on the family name. In May of 1991, they welcomed a baby boy, Adam Woodrow.  The fabulous five enjoyed vacationing, fishing, camping with friends nearly every weekend, and just being together. Allen enjoyed watching all three of his children play sports and do what they loved. He even took up coaching when he could. He and Adam soon became hunting buddies and began to make memories to last a lifetime.

As life continued to go on Allen’s two daughters and son made families of their own. Allen’s grandchildren were his pride and joy. He enjoyed taking them fishing, teaching them to hunt, giving them tips on how to box out and rebound, throw a football, or hit a baseball or softball. Allen’s humor, love, discipline, and commitment to his children and grandchildren show through in them all.

Allen has made a lasting impression on all who knew him. His smile could light a room. His eyes could see when someone needed help, and his hands would fix whatever was broken.

Allen is survived by his wife Marie (Nelson) Watts of 44 years.
