Obituary

Lester Allen Metzger of Fowler passed away on August 18, 2025 at his home in Fowler at the age of 60. Lester was born to John and Fae Metzger and grew up in Prichett. After school Lester was a mechanic. He married Karen in 1996 and they raised their family in Boone. Lester was an avid fisherman.

Lester is survived by his 7 children: Candis Stephens of ND, Jacob Baxter, Joseph Baxter both of Fowler, Jason Baxter, Jared Baxter, Cody Hankla, Brianna Hankla all of Pueblo, 13 grandchildren: Kela Stephens, Joseph Baxter, Daniel Baxer, Susie Baxter, Penelope Baxter, Harper Baxter, Jack Baxter, JT Baxter, Lili Baxter, Leo Baxter, Luke Baxter, Ave Wear, Lindsey Hankla, 1 great-grandson: Hank Baxter, 3 siblings: Wilma (Domingo Ruiz) Metzger of Pritchett, Douglas Metzger of Avondale, Anthony Metzger of Rocky Ford, sister-in-law: Deya Metzger, ex-wife Karen Metzger of Boone, niece Melinda Metzger of Boone, Melissa Metzger of AK. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Zach Metzger, numerous aunts uncles and cousins.

Services Held on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025 at 2:30pm at the Solid Rock Baptist Church. Bellwood Ustick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
