La Junta Fire Dept. Reports: Vehicle Fire Contained Near Road 28 & Homestead Loop

La Junta Fire Department Responds to Vehicle Fire
At approx 1222pm today B shift responded to reported vehicle on fire in the area of Rd 28 and Homested Loop.
Upon arrival a vehicle was found to have heavy fire in the engine compartment and occupant compartment. All occupants were safely out of the vehicle.
Crews arrived and made an aggressive fire attack to knock down the fire and prevent the fire from spreading. Overhaul was conducted to make sure the fire was out.
The investigation found the cause and area to be possible mechanical malfunction starting in the engine compartment.
DFPC Engine 34 assisted with water supply and OCSO took over the scene when the fire was out.
