Colorado State Patrol Reports on Single-Vehicle Crash in Swink

Colorado State Patrol Troopers Responded to a Single-Vehicle crash at 2:50 PM on Saturday, Feb 14, 2026 on US Hwy 50 Mile Post 374 in Swink, Colorado. 

Colorado State Patrol Public Information Officer reported that the crash involved a Single-Vehicle described as a black 2018 Kia Optima passenger sedan.

Upon arrival, the vehicle was off of the roadway near the furthest eastbound lane, the vehicle struck a signage post as it came to a rest.

The CSP PIO reported that one individual was transported for medical treatment.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was issued a summons for no proof of insurance, according the the Colorado State Patrol Public Information Officer.

La Junta Fire & EMS and the Otero County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene of the crash.
