Crash With Injuries Being Investigated
Rocky Ford, Colo. – February 15th, 2026 – At about 8:21 P.M. the Rocky Ford Police Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries in the 600 block of Elm Avenue.
Three people were transported via ambulance to the hospital. One patient was determined to have serious injuries.
A driver of one of the involved vehicles, Perry Powars age 18, was arrested and booked into the Otero County Jail on charges of: vehicular assault, careless driving, DUI and driving under restraint.
These charges are merely an accusation and charges may be added, reduced or dropped as the case progresses.
This suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Although alcohol and/or drugs are a factor in this crash, the events leading up to the crash are still under investigation.
