A celebration of life will be held March 27, 2026 11:00 am at the CommUNITY Presbyterian Church in Rocky Ford.

Obituary 

Roy was born Feburary 24, 1952 and raised in Rocky Ford, graduating from Rocky Ford High School as a state qualifer in wrestling, continued his education at Rangely College.

He was retired and enjoyed traveling, Wild West Era history, spending time with friends and family, and fishing with his brother Richard. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Roy S. and Socorro Lopez, brother Richard David Lopez, niece Angel Grano, nephews Carlos Grano and Joseph Barela, and sister-in-law Sandra Lopez.

He is survived by his daughters Deena Kingsley Lopez, Kisha (Charles) Callier, son Keith Lopez, grandchildren Trey Callier, Jaydon Moor, Darien Lopez, Dominic (Champ) Lopez, Canelo Lopez, Jaylah Lopez, and Layla Lopez, brothers Henry Lopez of, Denver and Ralph Lopez of Oxnard CA, sisters Sarah (Leroy) (Bennie) Martinez of La Junta, Lillian Lopez of Rocky Ford, Donna (Danny) Whatley of Rocky Ford, Valerie Lopez of Colorado Springs and Melyssa (Joe) Zamora of La Junta, along with many nieces and nephews.

He will be remembered for his joking demeanor, his gift of gab and the smile he kept on his face.
