Life360 App Helps Locate Serious Rollover Crash with Multiple Injuries

Rocky Ford Fire Department was dispatched to the scene of a rollover initially reported to be with 2 occupants and vehicle possibly in water at CR 805 and Hwy 71.

In route, it became clear more resources were going to be needed so Crowley County Ambulance Service and Med Trans were dispatched as well due to 4 occupants with injuries.

Locating the vehicle was difficult at first but became successful after the parent of one of the occupants used a Life360 app to more accurately pinpoint location.

RFFD was the first EMS and rescue unit on scene and became an incident command to unify response among agencies. In route to scene, a helicopter was dispatched to the scene by RFFD. A sheriff’s deputy was injured during efforts to get to the car.

The response was quick by all agencies, 1 patient was flown to Memorial Central, 2 transported to Parkview by ground and 2 to AVRMC in La Junta by ground.

Thank you to all law enforcement and other responding agencies for your help on scene.
