Front-End Loader Fire Near Rocky Ford Fully Contained; Rocky Ford Fire and La Junta Crews Respond, No Injuries Reported

Today at approximately 11:35 am we were paged out to Timpas Feedlot for a front end loader on fire north of the feedlot.

La Junta Fire Department was requested with a tender and DFPC Engine 34 responded with an engine.

Upon arrival DFPC Engine 34 was first on scene. Their scene size-up determined front end loader fully engulfed with no exposure hazards.

We shortly arrived on scene with a brush truck and a tender.

Shortly after all units arrived, fire was extinguished and all hazards mitigated.

No injuries noted and front end loader was a total loss with an unknown cause.

All units cleared at approximately 12:30pm.
