La Junta Jr/Sr High School Principal Jennifer Foxhoven Steps Down After Years of Service

Dr. Krumholz and School Board,

Please accept this letter as formal notice of my resignation from my position as Principal at La Junta Jr/Sr High School, effective at the conclusion of my contract.

Serving the La Junta community has been a privilege I will carry with me long after this chapter closes.  I have had the privilege of growing within this district - from instructional coach to assistant principal to principal - and each step of that journey has shaped who I am as a leader and as a person.

My deepest gratitude goes to the staff of La Junta Jr/Sr High School.  The heart, the grit, and the commitment you show our students every single day are what make this school truly special.  It has been an honor to stand beside you in this work.  I am also incredibly thankful for the administrators and mentors who believed in me, supported me, and helped guide me along the way.

At this time, I feel called to be where I am needed most - at home with my family, helping to raise my grandchildren.  As Mother Teresa said, “If you want to change the world, go home and love your family.”  That truth is guiding my decision, and I move forward with both gratitude and peace.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve this community.  La Junta Jr/Sr High School will always hold a special place in my heart.

With gratitude,
Jennifer Foxhoven
Principal
La Junta Jr/Sr High School
