Obituary

Jennie Baca of La Junta, Colorado entered into rest January 28, 2021 at her home in La Junta. She was born on April 5, 1934 to Samuel and Mary Baca in Maxwell, New Mexico. She was 86 years of age.

Jennie graduated from Rocky Ford High School. She was a very vibrant and outgoing person. She loved to go camping and be around family. Her grandkids were always her favorite to be around. Her nails were always painted red, with lips to match, and her hair always done. Jennie always took care of the people around her and would always lend a helping hand. She loved to cook and dancing was her favorite. “You Belong With Me” by Taylor Swift would always be playing at her house, and you'd see Jennie dancing around singing. Her uplifting, goofy and cheerful personality will truly be missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her children, Daniel (Diana) Baca of Rocky Ford; Louise (Sonny Romero) Valerio of Pueblo; Benny Baca, Jr. of La Junta; Sammy Baca of La Junta; Mark Diaz of Pueblo; 20 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren and 11 great, great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Johnny; three sisters and five brothers.

Funeral service will be Friday, February 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Robert Hernandez of Rocky Ford officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
