The Colorado State Patrol is Seeking An Involved Driver and Witnesses

Hit and run involving a teen

(El Paso County, Colorado) – This evening, at about 8:00 p.m., the Colorado State Patrol responded to the area of northbound Interstate 25 near South Academy Boulevard in Colorado Springs on a report of a juvenile struck by a vehicle.

The juvenile, who was crossing the roadway, was struck in the left lane of northbound Interstate 25 and suffered serious injuries. The vehicle was described as a "white sedan with a black bumper, possibly a Ford Focus," and did not remain on scene.

Due to the pedestrian moving out of the direct path of the vehicle and being hit by its side as it passed, investigators believe the vehicle may have minor-to-no damage.

The Colorado State Patrol Vehicular Crimes Unit will lead the investigation for this incident.

If you were traveling through the area of Interstate 25 and South Academy Boulevard at approximately 8:00 p.m. on April 17, 2026, and believe you potentially collided with something or possibly witnessed this incident, please call the Colorado State Patrol Pueblo Dispatch Center at (719) 544-2424 and reference case number VC260115. Be prepared to leave your contact information so an investigator can contact you.
