Free Kids’ Grief Camp Coming to La Junta June 11 at Koshare Museum

LA JUNTA, Colo. — Sangre de Cristo Community Care is once again offering a free Kids’ Camp for children grieving the loss of a loved one or someone close to them. The special one-day event will take place June 11, 2026, at Koshare Museum in La Junta.
Kids’ Camp is designed to give children a safe, supportive space where they can connect with other kids who understand their loss, while learning healthy coping skills through activities led by Sangre’s bereavement counselors. The day is centered on healing, hope, and fun.
Thanks to generous community donors, Kids’ Camp is completely free for families. Children attending will enjoy a free lunch, snacks, games, prizes, and a fun new addition this year — an epic bounce house.

“Grief can be especially difficult for children, and no child should have to navigate it alone,” Betty Garcia, Bereavement Counselor with Sangre de Cristo Community Care said. “Kids’ Camp gives children a chance to be surrounded by caring professionals and peers who understand what they are going through, while still enjoying a day made just for them.”
Kids’ Camp is open to children ages 6 to 13. Registration is required and free. Families must complete registration by June 4, 2026 at:
