Pueblo County Coroner Identifies Victim in Fatal Hit-and-Run Near Routt and Baystate Avenues

PUEBLO, Colo. — The Pueblo County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who died following a hit-and-run crash near Routt Avenue and Baystate Avenue.

The fatal incident happened on May 5, 2026, around 10:24 p.m. Dispatchers initially received a report of a disturbance in the area. When officers arrived, they found a person lying in the roadway who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

On May 6, Pueblo County Coroner Dr. Gregory Grahek identified the victim as Kevin A. Martinez, 39. Officials said Martinez’s next of kin have been notified.

Traffic investigators are continuing to investigate the incident. No further information has been released at this time.
