LA JUNTA, Colo. — The La Junta High School JROTC program, led by Mr. Schmidt, proudly donated more than 400 pounds of food to Associated Charities of La Junta following a successful JROTC Food Drive.

As part of the donation, Mr. Schmidt and the JROTC cadets presented a check along with the collected food items to help support families in need throughout the La Junta community.

The food drive highlighted the cadets’ dedication to leadership, service, and community involvement. Through their hard work and commitment, the JROTC program helped make a meaningful impact on local families during a time when food assistance remains an important need.

“We are incredibly proud of our cadets for their hard work, leadership, and commitment to serving others,” the program shared. “Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make this food drive such a success for families in our community.”

Associated Charities of La Junta provides support to individuals and families facing hardship, and donations like this help strengthen local efforts to fight food insecurity.
